...regarding changes to the curricula, graduation program and provincial assessments.
Dear Parents and Guardians:
Please find the attached letter and documents from the Minister of Education regarding changes to the curricula, graduation program and provincial assessments. A similar email has been sent to your school Principal and teachers. The first question that may come to mind after reading the letter is, “How will this impact my child’s learning experience?” Please find some of the answers in the “QAs New Curriculum” document attached to this email. Your Principal will also be able to help answer some questions. This change, although expected, is new and will require discussion and thoughtful implementation over the coming years. As you are aware, additional non-instructional days were added to this school year and next to help District professionals plan the implementation of the redesigned curricula. It is also important to note that teachers have been working for the past few years in anticipation of these changes to adjust practice and develop thoughtful learning episodes and assessments that better personalize learning for your child.
Thank you for your patience and partnership as we continue on this learning journey together.
Sincerely,
Kevin
